Meili North Trek is a new trekking route developed in recent years, it is considered one of the most beautiful treks in China.This trekking trip allows enthusiast to explore the most primitive beautiful landscape on the north slope of Meili snow mountain. You will enjoy colorful valley in autumn, azaleas blooming flowers in summer, splendid glaciers and witness the majestic beauty of the Yunnan-Tibet Border Pass at 5200m. This trip is definitely a hard trekking however you would really be impressed less-expored heartland of Meili snow mountain.

Mt. Cogar Laka (6509m)-措格腊卡, the second highest peak of Meili Snow Mountains. It is huge, towering, like a sitting lion of Meili Snow Mountain.
Nairi Dingka Glacier, the most spectacular glacier on the north slope of Meili snow mountain, which is located on the north face of Mt. Nairi Dingka (6379m) 奶日顶卡.The giant glacier pours down to the hillfoot from Mt. Nairi Dingka.
Pojun Camp, an excellent place to have a close views of Mt. Nairi Dingka(6375m), Mt. Mangkang Laka(6175m) and their splendid glaciers. Yunnan-Tibet Border Pass is the highest point 5200m in Meili North Trek. It is a watershed border between Yunnan Province and Tibet, where is also a panoramic view point. You can see all mountains in North Meili, and Tibetan mountains: Mt. Damiyong (6324m), Chaga Lazi (6146m).

Trekking Route
Meili North Trek will hike 50 kilometers, climb over 3 mountain passes at the altitude of 47005200 meters, climb a total of 3600 meters, descend 3600 meters. Trekker shoud have prior 4000m trekking experience to attend this trek.
Trekking Season
The trekking season for Meili North Trek is from June to October, and the most beautiful scenery is the azalea blooming in early-to-mid June and the alpine color forest in mid-to-late October. July-August is the raining season. We choose Sep-Oct for the itinerary in 2025.

DAY 1 Arrival at Lijiang and Gear&Equipment check
Arrival at Lijiang and checkin in the hotel, our staff will hold a briefing with members, Gear&Equipment check and sign the agreement with members. You can visit Lijiang Ancient Town.

DAY 2 Lijiang — Shangri-La — Feilai Temple
Depart from Lijiang in the morning, driving along Golden Sand River, we will pass through Xiaozhongdian grassland, have lunch in Benzilan town. On the Baimang Snow Mountain Pass , you will meet magnificent plateau scenery. We will arrive at Feilai Temple in Deqin and check in local boutique hotel, autumn is the best time to see the beautiful sunset of Meili Snow Mountain.

DAY 3 Feilai Temple -Yagong Village - Bamboo Camp 11km/3550m
You can't miss the sunrise in the morning, the magnificent Meili Snow Mountain turning into golden sunshine mountain! After breakfast, drive to the starting point of Yagong village. Hiking 9km along forest trail to zhangqia camp, then continue going 2km, arrive in Bamboo camp

DAY 4 Bamboo Camp - Pojun Camp 5km/4100m
Today's scenery is very beautiful. Today's hiking is relatively relaxed. Follow the river towards to snow mountain direction, gradully going up, across cattle and bridge, arrive in Pojun camp. The camp is located in front of Meili Snow Mountain, enjoy splendid glaciers and colorful valley.

DAY 5 Pojun Camp - Ci Ding Pass (4770m) - Pojang Camp 6km/4200m
We can probably see sunrise of Meili Snow Mountain in the morning. Today's itinerary is challenging to cross over 4770m Ci Ding Pass. We will climb up a steep gravel slope and a side rigde before the pass. After the pass, we will descend to the bottom of valley- Pojiang Camp.

Time: 5-6 hours trekking for 6km,up 670m and down 570m

DAY 6 Pojang Camp- Tibet Border Pass (5200m) - Pojiang Camp 9km/4200m
Today we will climb up to the 5200m YunnanTibet Border Pass, a biggest challenge in the whole itinerary. We climb up the platform at altitude 4700m firstly, take a short break and continue to the pass. On the pass, you can have a glimpse of scenery of Meili snow mountain and Tibetan mountains, Tibet twin lakes. Same way returning Pojiang Camp.

Time: 7-10 hours trekking for 9km,up 1000m and down 1000m

DAY 7 Pojiang Camp - Yagong Village 16km - Feilai Temple
Departing from the camp early in the morning, we enter the forest, first a downhill and then a climb up to Dalai Pass, a good view point where you can see the entire north slope of Meili snow mountain. We pass through the cattle shed, then descend to Yagon village along the vallee passing by several bridges. Drive back to Feilai temple and check in the hotel.

Time: 6-8 hours trekking for 16km, up 500m and down 1700m,36km by driving

Today still have a chance to see sunrise of Meili snow mountain. We will return to Lijiang around 17:00pm. Taking into account the instability of traffic on the road, it is recommended to book the return flight after 20:00 pm or the next day.

【PUBLIC EQUIPMENT】
Canteen tents (400cm*400cm*190cm), tables, chairs, cookware, food, fuel, walkie-talkies, satellite phones,, emergency oxygen and medicine. Camping tent and mattress for members.
【REQUIREMENT】
18-65 years old, the member must physically fit to the trekking, any major physical injuries, undergone surgery, chronic disease etc information must declare. Prior trekking or camping in altitude above 4000m is a must.
Precautions for registration:
Participants must be healthy and not having heart disease, hypertension, asthma, mental illness and other diseases.
All the participants need to follow the organization of the trip leaders. Otherwise you should bear your own consequences caused by your own behaviors. We hereby declare that Masherbrum will not have any joint liability of the unpredictable accidents caused by Environment or any accidents caused by the participants’ mistake during the trip.

The deposit payment 2000CNYshould be paid 30 days before DAY 1 for the reservation your place. The remaining payment should be done before DAY 1.The payment refund will not happen due to member personal reason.
