JinYinShan is also called Mt.Tai,located in the southside 10km distance facing to Minya Konka. Its main peak is 6,410 meters above sea level with pyramid-shaped.

JinYinShan is covered with a large amount of glaciers from the 4,900m camp1 to the top of the peak. Standing on JinYinShan, you can see Chengdu Plain in the east, Mt.Genie in the west, Yading Sacred Mountains in the south, Minya Konka and Mt. Siguniang in the north. The east side of JinYinShan is steep and difficult to climb.The easiest climbing route is from south slope getting there by Zigan Valley.

● JinYinShan was firstly climbed by the Xiaoyaoke Adventure Club in January 2018. It is a new 6000m+ level technical snow mountain for commercial climbing, and a good choice before going to 7000m+ snow mountain. The glaciers on this mountain are well existed, with seeable and hidden crevasses , and ice walls and cliffs. There are three glaciers from Camp1 reaching to the mountain cliff. The middle glacier is covered with a large number of rocks.The saddle of the mountain goes up about 300 meters, where you can view Minya Konka at close distance and overlook the mountains.

●The 4,900 meters above C1 of Jinyin Mountain to the summit are all covered by glaciers, with steep slopes and crevasses. Climbers are exposed to the risks of low temperatures, falling rocks and ice, avalanches, slips and falling into crevasses.

●The vertical climbing-up distance to the summit of JinYinShan is 4,910 meters, which exceeds the climbing-up distance of Mt. Everest. The trekking distance is total 39km in the expedition. Climbers attempting to JinYanShan must prepare well on high altitude acclimatization, climbing experience and physical fitness.

Day 1：Chengdu-Caoke

Driving to Caoke town from Chengdu about 5 hours in 300km.

Accomodation：Caoke Hotel（Twin Room）

Altitude：Caoke Town 1500m

Note: please arrive in Chengdu one day before or the morning time in D1.

Day 2：Caoke- Base Camp

Trekking to base camp about 7 hours in 8km.

Accomodation：Tent

Meals：Breakfast and dinner

Altitude：Base camp 3750m

Day 3：Base Camp Acclimatization

Acclimatization and pre-climbing training in base camp.

Accomodation：Tent

Meals：Breakfast, lunch and dinner

Altitude：Base camp 3750m

Day 4：Base camp - Camp 1

Trekking to camp 1 about 6 hours in 5.5km.

Accomodation：Tent

Meals：Breakfast and dinner

Altitude：Camp1 4900m

Day 5：Camp1-Camp2

Going to camp2 about 5 hours in 3km.

Accomodation：Tent

Meals：Breakfast and dinner

Altitude：Camp2 5500m

Day 6：Camp2-Camp3

Going to camp3 about 5 hours in 1.5km.

Accomodation：Tent

Meals：Breakfast and dinner

Altitude：Camp3 6000m

Day 7：Camp3-Summit-Base Camp

Going to summit and down to base camp, a long day!

Day 8：Base Camp -Caoke Town

Back to Caoke Town, have a shower and celebration dinner!

Go back Chengdu by driving.

Special Reminder

1. Risk Reminder

Every mountaineer who has decided to participate in the expedition to JinYinShan must realize that an ascent of this mountain is an adventure activity and so it poses certain health and life risks.

She/he takes full personal responsibility for the decision to participate in this expedition, any act or failure to act during it and all the possible consequences of this decision.

2 Cancellations and Transfers

Expeditions will usually only take place if a minimum of 4 people join the Expedition.Should this minimum not be reached, we may, in our absolute discretion, cancel the Expedition. If we elect to cancel the Expedition as your exclusive remedy, you may choose to be: refunded in full; or transferred to another of our expeditions ;or transferred to another operator’s expedition, whereupon the Price shall be adjusted by us to reflect the new expedition’s advertised price.

Camping: Sleeping bag (comfort rating -15°C)， Trekking boots

Clothing: Waterproof jacket, Waterproof over trousers, Swimming suits(For Hot Spring pool in Caoke town hotel), Down jacket, Raincoat, Fleece jacket and trouser, 2 coolmax underwear, 3 pairs of thermal socks, Waterproof down gloves, Fleece gloves, warm hat, sunhat

Bags: Transport Bag 100-150L or Backpack 60 L +, Small bag 30L

Drinking: Thermal mug（1L）

Accessories: Hiking stick, Gaiters, Snow Goggles (spare sunglass), Headtorch with batteries, Washbag, Sun protection

Technical gears:

Mountain boots, Crampons, Technical Ice axe, Harness, Helmet, Ascender, ATC Descender, 4 Carabiners，Daisy chain or cowstail

Renting price for the full set of techinical equipment is 600CNY.

【Requirement】

The member should have prior 5000m+ snow mountain experience, must physically fit to the climbing sports, any major physical injuries, undergone surgery, chronic disease etc information must declare beforehand.

【Registration Procedure】

The down payment 5000CNY should be made by the registration deadline and the remaining payment will be paid before or on arrival; the payment refund will not happen due to member personal reason after Day1.
