Introduction
Mt. Chola, 6,168m(20,236ft), called Que Er Shan in chinese,located in the Ganzi Tibetan Prefecture, the western Sichuan Province, China, near Tibet Autonomous Region. It is a northern sub-range of the Shaluli Mountains, once at the centre of the Kingdom of Derge and some remnant Tibetan Buddhist monasteries can be found in the mountain range's valleys, there is currently a well-known lama meditating in the Mt. Chola Valley, and he will bless the climbers. Mt.Chola was first climbed in 1988 by a joint China-Japan team. In the past 6 years , it has already become a very popular climbing mountain for Chinese climbers because its beautiful mountain scenery, and think of it as a level of enhance mountaineering skills including the roped team travel, ice climbing etc, also creates the confidence to attempt a higher altitude peak.
Climbing Routes
The climbing season is from July to early October. There are three camps in the traditional route. The route approaches the mountain from Xinlu Lake, the base camp is located in the ending of lakeside follows the southeast slope by hiking to camp 1 at 4850 meters at the end of trail. From camp1, glacier treks to camp2 at 5350meters. From Camp2, ascend a steep slope to the Camp3 at 5796meters on a large snow plateau; From Camp3, follow the North Slope to the summit, the last 100 meters to the summit is along an exciting ridge line.

Logistics Service in Base Camp
The logistics service in base camp of Mt. Chola will offer daily 3 hot meals , hot water foot washing, toilet tent, and comfortable sleeping tent and spacious public tent. A team of professional cooks are responsible for meals at our Base Camp. Electricity is supplied during the night.
The territory of the Base Camp has mobile phone network coverage, however, there is no internet connection.
Itinerary
Day 01 Arrive in Ganze county(3390m), check-in hotel; check equipment
Day 02 Drive to Mt. Chola then trek 2-3 hours to base camp (4020m)
Day 03 Rest day for acclimatization and pre-climb training at base camp (4020m)
Day 04 Trek to Camp 1 (4850 m), climbing training at Camp 1
Day 05 Glacier travel to Camp 2 (5350 m)
Day 06 Glacier travel and snow slope climbing to Camp3 (5796m).
Day 07 Summit day(6168m), then descent to Camp 1 or Base Camp
Day 08 Back to Ganze county (3390m) and overnight stay in hotel
Requirement
The member should have prior 5000m+ mountain level climbing experience, and also has a sufficient physical condition.

1. Risk Reminder
Mt. Chola(6168m) is considered to be one of the most popular, easily of accessed and hence most frequented summits
among 6,000m peaks in China, but one climber fell his death due to HAPE in 2016. Every mountaineer who has decided
to participate in an expedition to Mt. Chola must realize that an ascent of this mountain is an adventure activity and so
it poses certain health and life risks. She/he takes full personal responsibility for the decision to participate in this
expedition, any act or failure to act during it and all the possible consequences of this decision.
2.Food and Drinks
A team of professional cooks are responsible for meals at our Base Camp (4,020 m) . They are great in cooking a huge variety of incredibly delicious food. The daily menu is elaborate and comprises a large amount of fresh fruit and vegetables, mainly Chinese food and limited western cuisine. The high-altitude foods are instant soup, cereals, sausages, dry fruits, chocolate, packed bread, biscuits, coffee packets etc.
3.Safety Policy
The security system in Mt.Chola includes the medical aiding KIT, a general medical examination before going to an ascent, each
participant’s activity is monitored at each climbing stage , on-call emergency rescue team and emergency oxygen cylinder , however the effectiveness of this system largely requires the compliance of safety policy from each participant, the extreme weather also reduces its value.
4.Cancellations and Transfers
Expeditions will usually only take place if a minimum of 6 people join the Expedition. Should this minimum not be reached, we may, in our absolute discretion, cancel the Expedition. If we elect to cancel the Expedition as your exclusive remedy, you may choose to be: refunded in full; or transferred to another of our expeditions; or transferred to another operator’s expedition, whereupon the Price shall be adjusted by us to reflect the new expedition’s advertised price.
5.Transportation to and from Ganze town
Member can take flight to Ganze town (Gesar Airport-GZG) or self-arrange bus or car rental to Ganze town. We also can assist the member to hire car and bus ticket booking. Please add 1-2days transportation time between Chengdu and Ganze town in single way.
