Hotels and Itinerary

As a provider for boutique expedition, Masherbrum adheres to the rule of safety first and high quality service.Masherbrum's Wusun Ancient Trail Trekking will arrange all members to stay at high standard hotels at Yining and Kuche. The team members can have a good rest before trekking, and recover quickly when the trekking ends.

About Trekking Grade

Wusun ancient trail trekking is 120km distance, have to across mountain passes and cross the river over 15 times . It is classified to the 5 Grade. The team members must have high altitude trekking experience and strong physical fitness and stamina. Team member only need carries her/his small   bag during the trekking, her/his main luggage is carried by the horse.

D3   Campsite - Qiong Mountain Pass- Kekesu Riverside 20km
D4   Kekesu Riverside- Bridge   -Grassland Station 25km
D5   Grassland Station- Paradise Lake 15km
D6   Paradise Lake- Akbulak Mountain Pass- Bozikerig Valley 20km

D7   Bozikerig Valley-Heiyingshan Town- Kuche 28km

DAY 1 Arrival at Yining and Gear&Equipment check

Arrival at Yining 伊宁,checkin Hotel (4 Star）, our manager will check your Gear&Equipment,   hold a briefing group meeting and sign the agreement with members.   

Food: Self-responsible

Accommodation: Yining Central Asia International Hotel（or same standard hotel）, twin-bed room

Altitude: Yining 620m

D2 Yining- Qiongkushitai - Campsite   trekking 15km

Today we will drive to start point villageQiongkushitai which is   a historical and cultural village. After passing through Turks County , approach to Tianshan Grassland and Kekesu River, and enjoy the scenery of Tianshan Mountain. Afterwards we will arrive at Village. After lunch, we will trek 3-4 hours for 15km to the campsite nearby the mountain pass.

Accommodation: Camping

Time: 220km 5 hours by driving, 3-4 hours trekking for 15km

Altitude:   Campsite 2800m

D3 Campsite - Qiong Mountain Pass- Kekesu Riverside   20km

After breakfast, we will depart and go up to the Qiong Mountain Pass 3670m. Weather maybe change significantly on the top of mountain pass,and there may be occasional snow. All the way down to the Kekesu river, arrive at the campsite.

Food: 3 Meals( Lunch is dry food)

Accommodation: Camping

Time:   8-10 hours trekking for 20km

Altitude:   Kekesu Riverside Campsite 2000m

D4   Kekesu Riverside - Bridge - Grassland Station 25km

Today’s trekking is relatively longer distance. We will firstly across the Kekesu river by bridge. Trekking along the river then go to the grassland protection station campsite.

Food: 3 Meals( Lunch is dry food)

Accommodation: Camping

Time:   10-12 hours trekking for 25km

Altitude:   Grassland Station 2300m

D5   Grassland Station- Paradise Lake 15km

Today's trekking is relatively short,   we will arrive at paradise Lake in the afternoon and camp at the lakeside. Team members have sufficient time to enjoy this landmark place   Heaven Lake on the Wusun Ancient Trail.

Food: 3 Meals( Lunch is dry food)

Accommodation: Camping

Time:   5-6 hours trekking for 15km

Altitude:   Paradise Lake Campsite 3100m

D6   Paradise Lake- Akbulak Mountain Pass- Bozikerig Valley 20km

Enjoy the beauty of Paradise Lake this morning, then we go. Along the plank trail of Paradise Lake, going up to the Akbulak pass 3820mthis is the highest point on the Wusun Ancient Trail, and you will enter the Bozikerig Valley, a dry and hot valley, now you are in the southern Xinjiang area, the natural environment is very different than northern Xinjiang!   Going down all the way, arrive at the riverside camp.

Time:   8-10 hours trekking for 20km

Altitude:   Mountain Pass 3820m   Campsite 3000m

D7   Bozikerig Valley- Heiyingshan Town- Kuche City 28km

Today we trek down along the Bozikerig   Valley, the trail is some part at the left riverside and some at the right riverside, we have to cross the river at least 15 times   (required for river hiking shoes or sneaker). At the evening , we will meet our pickup bus at the mouth of the valley, drive through Heiyingshan Town to Kuche City, and stay at Kuche Tianyuan International Hotel (4 star)

Food: 3 Meals( Lunch is dry food)

Accommodation: Kuche Tianyuan International Hotel,twin-bed room

Time:   12-14 hours trekking for 28km

Altitude:   Average 1000m in Kuche

D8   Departure from Kuche

Today we will depart Kuche and airport dropoff.   Member also have own arrangement, for example visit the famous Kuche Ancient City and   the second DunhuangKizil Buddha Caves, and enjoy southern Xinjiang cuisine.

Accommodation: Self-responsible

Altitude:   Average 1000m in Kuche

【PRICE INCLUDES】

1 Transportation:   Yining-Qiongkushitai Village, and Heiyingshan Town- Kuche, Yining airport pick-up and Kuche airport drop-off

2 Accommodation:   D1&D7 hotel(twin-bed room) , D2-D6 camping( 2 persons/tent)

5 Camping:   Tent (220cm*190cm*120cm size tent) for 2 persons

6 Catering:   3 meals from Day 2 to Day 7. The camping dinner will have 4 dishes with hot drinks such as hot water, coffee and tea. The camping breakfast will have hot drinks, bread or pancakes, eggs or Ham etc. Lunch is dry food (Chocolate,nuts,energy bar, bread etc).

Please tell us beforehand if you are a vegetarian.

7 Horsing: public and personal equipment carrying during the trek, personal baggage limit 15kg

8 Public equipments: dining tent, cooking tent, toilet tent, sleeping pad, tables, chairs, fuel, stoves, cookware, tableware, warm water bottles, solar charging panel, first aid kits, walkie-talkies, satellite phones, and other consumables

Backpack: Backpack 60L+ or transport bag 100-120L (horse carrying at 15kg limit), small bag 30L

Sleeping bags and clothing: Sleeping bag (comfort rating -5 degrees), Waterproof jacket, Fleece jacket and trouser, Down jacket, Fleece cap, Waterproof gloves, 2+ pairs of socks

Shoes and other accessories:

Sunglasses, Stick, Thermal mug(1L), Hiking shoes, River hiking shoes or sneaker,Gaiters, Sunscreen (SPF35 and above), Headtorch (with spare battery), Raincoat, Waterproof bag for protection sleeping bag.

Each member could enjoy procurement support for the equipments of   SCARPA/Black Diamond/

【PUBLIC EQUIPMENT】

Canteen tent (400cm*400cm*190cm), tables, chairs, cookware, food, fuel, walkie-talkies, satellite phones, First aid kits, Camping tent and mattress for members.

【REQUIREMENT】

Wusun ancient trail trekking is 120km distance, have to across mountain passes and cross the river over 15 times . It is classified to the 5 Grade -   very tough . The team members must have high altitude 3-day trekking experience and strong physical fitness and stamina at age 18-60 years old.

【PAYMENT】

The prepayment 2000CNY should be paid before registration deadline for the reservation your place. The remaining payment should be done before or on arrival Yining Day1.   The remaining payments will NOT be refundable after trip starts due to personal reasons.。
